On October 3rd, 2015, the Marie Louise Cancer Foundation held its first ever“Haitians & Friends against Breast Cancer Walk and Family Health Fair at the Intracoastal Park in Boynton Beach, FL. The event had over 600 participants which included walkers, medical professionals and volunteers. The participants took part in the 1-Mile Fun Walk followed by a brief ceremony and medical health fair throughout the day.
As the first-ever event to combine a walk with a full-service health fair in Palm Beach County, the event was a huge success providing over 350 FREE medical servicesto participants. These services included, physical exams, mammograms, pap-smears, HIV tests as well as glucose and hypertension checks and much more.
